This is why we’re proud and excited to sponsor Austin Pets Alive! (APA!), an organization that has created innovative programs to save shelter animals most at risk.
Austin is the largest and longest-running “no-kill” city in the US thanks to a groundbreaking and unique partnership between APA! and the city’s municipal shelter, Austin Animal Center. “No-kill” animal shelters do not kill healthy or treatable animals even when the shelter is full.
When Austin Pets Alive! was established, Austin had a kill-rate of 87%. Today, they have a save-rate of 97%.
