Janita, the creator of the OneMind Dogs methodology, is a genuine all-round dog sports expert. As reflected in her kennel name Decathletes, Janita and her first border collie Visse competed in ten different dog sports including obedience, flyball, disaster rescue, water rescue, breed shows and various working trials such as tracking, searching and messenger dog trials. In recent years Janita has focused on agility, both as a coach and as a competitor.  She is in hot demand for seminars around Europe and the world.

Janita has had two turning points in her agility career. The first, absolutely the most important thing she ever learned, was taught to her by her deaf border collie Tekla: Vocal commands do not matter at all if your other signals contradict them.

Another important turning point was her visit to Scotland in 2004. During this visit she understood how to prepare puppies and young dogs for agility. Nowadays, OneMind Dogs basic training is so functional that puppies are comfortably trained, even to the level of champion.

Janita is a very determined and ambitious agility competitor. She has trained all her dogs to compete successfully at the international top level, and has won hundreds of competitions with her dogs.

As an instructor she demonstrates everything for her students to learn and develop – that’s her passion. She teaches honestly and speaks directly. She will do everything to find the best solutions for each individual student. She also remembers to give positive feedback when real progress happens. Janita’s desire is that handlers learn to understand their dogs so well that they can achieve the best possible results in agility course. Ultimately she wants to improve the wellbeing of dogs through spreading the word of the natural, dog-friendly OneMind Dogs methodology and encouraging the dog owners to spend time with their dog.

Janita lives and breathes agility. But in the interests of balance, she is also known for sleeping late in the mornings.
